The feature of Auto App Update has been added since iOS 7 and it don’t need users to check if there is an update version of the app. But turn on the automatic update can lead to several issues like consuming battery or taking more memory. Some update issues can also slow down the app. So many users have asked me how to disable the Auto App Update on the iOS devices.
Here is the quick guide of it and the steps are very easy.
How to Enable/Disable Auto App Update in iOS 9
Step 1. Navigate to Setting in you iPhone/iPad
Step 2. Tap iTunes & App Store
Step 3. Below the Password Settings, there is the AUTOMATIC DOWNLOADS
Step 4. To turn Auto App Update off, you can switch the Music, Apps, Books and Updates to off.
Note: The Auto App Update is enabled by default.
That’s it. It’s really easy and quick. What’s more, on this page, you can use another option - Use Cellular Data. If you turn off it, the App Store will only use WiFi connection when you need to download the updates of app. So if you don’t want to use too much your cellular data, you can disable this feature.
