Troubleshoot iPhone not Ringing Incoming Calls & Messages

Have you ever had the experience that an iPhone is not ringing or making alert sounds out of the blue, and missed many urgent incoming calls? I really did and I have searched many tips to solve this. This issue was even asked by some iPhone 6 / 6 Plus users.
Firstly, Make sure the "Ringer and Alerts" volume is not muted, you can go to Settings > Sounds And turn up the volume by sliding the volume button to right.

If it doesn’t work, the following solutions you may give it a try:
1. Check and Clean the iPhone Receiver
Check your iPhone receiver is good by playing a song or videos, and make sure your iPhone receiver is clean. The iPhone receiver is easily exposed to dirt and dust. You can use a soft thing (like a toothpick) to dig out the dust and dirt.

2. Turn off the “Mute Button”
Check to see if the mute button has been enabled on the iPhone. If you can see an orange strip next to the button, then the mute button is enabled. Once it turns on, you are unable to hear any sounds while receiving calls and messages. Make sure it is turned off.

3. Turn off the “Do Not Disturb” Mode
When the DND mode is on, the iPhone could be completely silent and cannot see all the alerts, notifications, calls and others. So you need to turn it off and you will be back to receiving calls and messages notifications.

4. Reboot your iPhone
Sometimes the iPhone would have some unknown bugs/errors or other something wrong, one of easy and fast solutions is to reboot iPhone. Usually, the “No Sound” problem can be fixed after turning on iPhone again.

5. Erase All Content and Settings
If those ways above don’t work, you can contact the Apple services by going to their official website and see if there are any other ways to solve it. If you don’t want to do that, you can do this only as a last solution because it can be quite a hassle. Navigating to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Make sure that you backup your iPhone via FonePaw iOS Transfer, or you will lose all of your data on iPhone.

What’s more, some people said that it was a Bluetooth DAB radio controller app installed. And turned off Bluetooth and the phone sound will return.

That’s it. If you have any other solutions, please share them in the comments below.
